Jewish Student Projects (JSP) is a student-led board that allocates funds to innovative, Jewish programs on college campuses. While JSP welcomes all grant proposals that it receives, JSP specifically seeks out Jewish student initiatives that fall outside of the standard Hillel programming. By funding these programs, JSP hopes to enrich the quality and quantity of Jewish programming on New England college campuses. JSP receives its funds from the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) directly, and is independent from the other Hillel Council organizations.
JSP is comprised of student representatives from area colleges. Its members are:
| Joshua Geltman, MIT, President | Shira Lavi, Emerson College |
| Naomi Adland, Brandeis University, Vice-President | Eric Migi, Boston University |
| Elaine Denenberg, Northeastern University | Patti Sheinman, HCNE coordinator |
| Arielle Galambos, Wellesley College | Garrett Barter, HCNE Board representative |
JSP is open to new board members from schools that are not currently represented.
To apply for a JSP grant, download and fill out the application. Submit the application to your campus representative or by mail to HCNE. Please keep in mind JSP's intended purpose before completing an application. Also, please make the grant application, and especially the budget, as detailed as possible. The more information the better. Please review the sample grant proposal for a helpful guideline. Also, note that,
JSP does not...
- Fund honoraria, which means that we will not award money for speakers and their expenses.
- Fund retroactive programs (unless it is the fault of our meeting schedule they are retroactive).
Other Notes:
- As a guideline, we prefer to supplement a program, and see that the initiative has looked for other funding sources as well. Therefore, please include all other grants you have applied for and all other sources of income (donations, Hillel, admission fee, etc.).
