Mifgash Jewish Identity & Leadership Program

Juniors, seniors, & grad students are invited to apply for this year-long program for American students in the Boston area and Israeli university students studying in Haifa to explore Jewish identity from your unique perspectives.

Between monthly Zoom meetings and in-person gatherings in Boston (October '23) and Haifa (May '24), participants will learn from each other and about themselves in the process. Applications are due 9/18.

Hillel Council is thrilled to partner with Hillel Israel/Hillel in Haifa and CJP’s Boston-Haifa Connection for this exciting new program.

 

Jewish Learning Fellowship

JLF Fall 2023 Offerings

JLF is a 10-week experiential, conversational seminar for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms. You, know, the big stuff like Who am I? What communities am I a part of? What is worth committing myself to, and why?

Hebrew Peer Tutoring

Fall 2023 Cohort starting soon!

Join a group of 10 students each in one of four courses by level to learn or improve your Hebrew skills with a teacher via Zoom! Each level provides 4x one-hour sessions - once per week for four weeks. One hour of homework exercises per week also provided. For students and recent alumni who attend university or have a permanent residence in New England.

Jacobson-Banks Scholarship Fund

Calling all undergraduate students! Apply for the Jacobson-Banks Scholarship, to help fund your next leadership opportunity! 

Have a conference you really want to attend, but don’t have the funding? We can help!

Want to become more involved with inter-cultural or inter-religious cooperation on your campus? We can help!

Hillel Council of New England is proud to offer this scholarship by honoring the legacy of Naomi Jacobson Banks, Wellesley College Class of 1964 and past President of Hillel Council of New England. The Jacobson-Banks Scholarship supports undergraduate students of all backgrounds through scholarships to attend conferences, workshops, or leadership institutes that focus on interfaith and inter-group relations and promote cross-cultural cooperation. Subsidies of $500-$750 are given to applicants on a rolling basis who participate in an immersive leadership experience and then commit to bringing their learnings back to their campus.
