Social Media Intern (Part-Time)

Hillel Council of New England (HCNE) is the central hub for Jewish campus life in Boston, Greater Massachusetts and across New England. The student population we serve is the second largest in the region. We are the resource for both established Hillels as well as for institutions looking to build Jewish life on campus. We support the Jewish campus experience for students and professionals through staffing, regional programming, professional development and consultative services.

Our organization is looking for a part time Social Media Intern to join our team. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape. The candidate will be responsible for updating our website, monitoring and posting on our various social networks, as well as participating in online outreach and promotion. Those looking to gain valuable hands-on marketing experience with our organization are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reports to the HCNE Regional Student Program Coordinator

  • Maintain and keep HCNE website up-to-date, i.e. posting regularly to our calendar

  • Post frequently to our various social media sites

  • Create and implement a social media marketing plan for specific events and programs

  • Assist with the creation of a marketing strategic plan for the organization

Qualifications

  • Current student obtaining a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Communications or Marketing

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Available up to 10 hours/week (can work remotely)

  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Vimeo, Squarespace, etc

  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity using Photoshop and Illustrator.

Graphic Design Internship

Graphic Design Internship

Congregation Kehillath Israel (KI) is a non-profit synagogue offering a semester-long internship

program that provides a hands-on, meaningful experience for people beginning a career in graphic

design to build their portfolio. Interns will be immersed in the experience of working in an office

including designing flyers and other small-scale graphic design projects. Interns will work closely

with the Director of Congregational learning and KI staff, gaining a broad view of the visual

communication strategy of the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities:

■ Assist in the development of flyers for print and online advertising

■ Post to KI’s social media

■ Maintain active event listings in various Boston publications

■ Analyze the effectiveness of KI’s social media outlets in the context of other similar

organizations

■ Complete special projects as needed

Qualifications

■ Strong academic performance

■ Knowledge of Adobe Suite is required

■ Exceptional oral, written, listening, and communication skills

■ Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

■ Experience with many social media platforms and cloud-centric office suites

■ Needs to be extremely reliable, a team player, have a strong work ethic, and a positive

attitude

■ Experience with many other publishing and social media platforms
