Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters Boston is looking for volunteers ages 21+ of all religious and cultural backgrounds who are interested in either mentoring a child (or teen) or building a caring friendship with someone who has a disability. Specifically, looking for folks from LGBTQ+ spaces.
Volunteers are expected to:
Commit to the program for a minimum of one year, be able to meet regularly, approximately 4-6 hours per month for Children’s Mentorship or 2 hours per month for Friend 2 Friend.
Have the capacity to meet participants where they are, with openness, patience, and flexibility.
Be able to use a personal vehicle or public transportation to meet a child or Friend for outings at agreed-upon times and locations.
Complete the volunteer screening process, including an in-depth interview, background and driving record checks, and required online screening.

Jewish Family & Children's Service
JF&CS offers flexible volunteer opportunities, from one-time projects to year-long commitments, with training and support provided as needed. Volunteers often build lasting friendships with one another and strong relationships with JF&CS clients. Volunteers can assist families, volunteer with older adults, help holocaust survivors, and help people with disabilities.
